Current 3-Step Body Care Routine (For Dry Skin & Hyperpigmentation)

Hello loves!

I’m back to share my updated body care routine! So I’m currently struggling with hyperpigmentation and slightly dry skin and it sucks! I decided to minimize my routine and try some new products and discuss the results I’m getting so far while only using 3 steps!

Cleansing:

First off I either shower or take a hot bath nightly and wanted to break away from my typical body washes which apparently wasn’t making me as clean as I thought!

Dr. Bronner’s Pure Castile Soap (Hemp Rose) $6.99-$17.99 at Target

There’s barely anything this biodegradable organic soap can’t do. Use it to clean counters and make floors sparkle. (Mix about a tablespoon in ½ gallon of warm water.) I’ve heard a lot of good things about this brand. With a variety of natural ingredients and 18 different ways to use this soap (from skin to even laundry) I spotted this particular one in Target that has a nice light rose scent (I love roses by the way). The ingredients include organic oils such as:

  • Coconut Oil (antibacterial, anti fungal, moisturizing)
  • Olive Oil (anti aging, antioxidant, hydrating)
  • Kernel Oil (firms and tones, anti aging, anti inflammatory, nourishing)
  • Hemp Oil (for moisture, skin rashes, and acne)
  • Jojoba Oil (soothes dry skin, anti inflammatory, calms the skin)

I was so embarrassed to see how much dirt came off of my body after one wash! But my skin felt squeaky clean and even after drying off my skin looked and felt pretty good and not dried out and tight.  I look forward to using this soap every night now!

Exfoliation:

Exfoliating Gloves (prices vary, available at any drugstore):

I used this with my soap about twice a week to really get the rough parts of my body such as my elbows, knees, ankles, and feet. I also like to go along my upper arms, chest, and across the top of my back to really help fade out some of the hyperpigmentation. It’s a slow process but I am seeing some results. Patience is the key!

Moisturize:

Spectrum Culinary Organic Virgin Coconut Oil ($8.99 at Target)

I actually used to apply coconut oil as a moisturizer in the past but being the product junkie that I am I moved on to other products and didn’t look back. But I remembered how I liked using coconut oil and picked this one up from the grocery aisle (always check the label for mentions of body usage). So far I’m really liking this one. It’s light but still hydrating and I LOVE the coconut smell. It gives me a nice glow too.

There you have it! Short and sweet like me! Of course you can try these products at your own discretion and change them how you see fit. Do you have a set body care routine? What are some of your skin care issues that you’re working on? Feel free to let me know!

Sincerely,
